What is a historic vehicle

The term ‘historic vehicle’ is applied to the categories listed below. While these are not definitive they are identified in the Beaulieu website. From a legal perspective new cars sold before January 1, 1975 are tax exempt as of 9th August 2016.

Veteran – pre 1918
Vintage – 1919-1930s
Classic – 1940s to 1990s
Modern classic (often including particularly noteworthy vehicles) – 1990 to 2005
