The idea is to visit as many of these as you want in the available time and collect the answers to the clues (eg information from notice boards, mileage on a sign post etc). You will need to individually decide which clue locations you want to visit and plot your own route to them. All locations are within the area covered by OS Landranger Map 137 (Ludlow & Church Stretton) but a decent Road Atlas will suffice.
Full information will be provided at the start but for further information prior to the event please contact Alan Grimley – 01584 856959, alan.grimley1@btinternet.com

Message from Lynne Munro KHVC Chairperson
25th Anniversary Message given at Maesmawr Hall on 21st April 2024
It is my great pleasure to thank you all for coming today to celebrate National Drive it Day in aid of the Childline Charity and also our KHVC 25th Anniversary lunch at this lovely venue. It was in 1999 that Derek Holloway and the late Tim Frost had the idea to start a historic club in Knighton, hence the reference to Knighton in our Club name in case newer members were wondering. Little did they think that that 25 years later the club would still be going strong and with a larger membership than ever. Derek said in his speech that people gave it a year before it folded! It is a great pleasure to welcome long standing members but also to see newly joined members here today too so a warm welcome to you all.Sadly we also remember members who have passed away and we fondly remember them for their support and contribution to KHVC. Tim Frost passed away in 2021 but we continue to honour and remember his contribution as a founder member alongside Derek Holloway. The committee works hard on your behalf and so here today are Tim Dunn, Alan Grimley and new committee members Colin Bennett, Gwyn Bennett, Tony Bennett and Philip Milne Taylor. Hayley Bishop and Brian Davies are also on the committee but are unable to be with us today. The committee of today is built on the strong foundations from previous committees and so we thank previous Chair Karyn Myatt and committee members Jan Benjamin and Gwynfor Benjamin who are here today for their hard work over many years. There are clipboards on the memorabilia table for up coming events so please put your names down if you are interested.I would now like to invite Derek Holloway our founder to say a few words.Members present were then invited to be upstanding for a toast to Absent Friends and to the longevity of the Club.Tony Dixon then gave thanks to Lynne Munro everyone who had worked hard to make this event so successful.A presentation of flowers to Betty Holloway by Karyn Myatt, previous Chair, was followed by a presentation by Lynne Munro of a card signd by all members present and a £25 voucher for the Discovery Centre, Craven Arms to Betty and Derek in recognition of their outstanding achievement over 25 years.Members displaying Drive it Day plates had been invited to put their registration numbers into a lucky dip to win a bottle of wine donated by Lynne and Alan Tipton. Betty Holloway was invited to draw the winning registration number which went to Tim and Raye Dunn.Members were then invited by Lynne Munro to have a celebratory photo taken.Hello to KHVC membersI trust this finds you safe and well and you are looking forward to getting your cars back on the road again very soon, I know Alan and I are.
Many of us will have had our first Coronavirus vaccine, and possibly have a date for the second. The Coronavirus Road Map shown below is looking more positive for our future, so I don’t think it will be too long before we can all meet up again face to face. We’ve already put some activities back on the calendar.
As you know, our 2020 Annual General Meeting was cancelled due to the virus. I took over from Karyn as Chairperson in April 2020. Not a great start to my term of office but things can only get better.
The Committee held a meeting earlier this month with the help of Zoom, and as it went so well, I’m pleased to let you know that the 2021 AGM which is scheduled for Sunday 18th April at 4pm will be delivered via Zoom.
We would like as many members in attendance as possible, the Agenda and Previous Minutes are attached. The meeting time is limited to 40 minutes so the AGM will start promptly at 4pm.
Your attendance and input into the Clubs future activities is very important, and if you’d like to be on the committee or organise an event all the better, just let me know.
If you’re not familiar with Zoom you can create a free account at https://zoom.us/
